RAIL ACCESS

Rail access in the Pike area is maintained by the CSX Corporation.
CSX connects the Pike area with a 23,000-mile rail network that spans 23 U.S. States and two Canadian provences. There are over 1,200 miles of CSX rail in Alabama.

Rail access is vital to Pike County's growing industries. It is estimated that in one year CSX saved shippers $57 million in transportation costs for Alabama freight. (Relative to trucking costs.)

AIRPORT ACCESS

The Troy Municipal Airport has 5,000 feet of fully lighted runway. Other amenities include instrument approach (NDB), lighted rotating beacon, 24-hour gasoline service, aircraft tiedown, and daily repair service.

The Montgomery Regional Airport, located within 50 miles of central Pike Couty, is served by Detla Connection, Northwest AirLink, US Air Express, Continental Express, and Atlantic Southeast airlines.

Fifty-five miles from central Pike County is the Dothan Regional Airport. Dothan has two primary runways: an all-weather runway with 8,500 feet, and a 5,000-foot secondary runway. Dothan is currently served by Atlantic Southeast airlines.

The William B Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is only 177 miles from Pike County. Known as the world's busiest passenger airport, ATL also offers 1.2 million square feet of cargo handling space.
